CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Recreation Department held their 18th Annual “Your Heart is in My Hands” Safety Rally on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Community Recreation Center. Eighty two participants attended the rally and learned how to perform CPR, work with an AED unit and learned the necessary First Aid skills to save a life. Students received an American Red Cross certification upon successful completion. All participants enjoyed a continental breakfast and received a candy bar or balloon with a card that read: “I am trained in CPR & First Aid because I love you – Your Heart is in My Hands” to give to their loved one on Valentine’s Day. This rally is conducted annually during the Valentine’s Day weekend. The goal of the rally is to get as many citizens trained in lifesaving skills. This year’s event was partnered with Liberty Tax, Montclair State University, William Paterson University, Boys and Girls Club of Clifton and the Clifton CERT team.
Eighteen volunteer instructors, from all over New Jersey, gave of their time to conduct the course. They included: Zoe Fendrich, Ashley Dett, Mark Kieffer, Nicole Sichenze, Allie Bilodeau, Victoria Mayer, Matt Collum, Christran Goebelbaker, Anthony Hout, Gabrueka Bosa, Deb Rodriguez, Chris Wagner, Jackie Mc Inerney, Alex Sperling, Sarita Wilson, Ted Wilson, Robin Romanski and Debbie Oliver.
