Scholarships – Study Polish At
Jagiellonian University This Summer
The Kosciuszko Foundation in NYC is currently accepting applications from Wisconsin Polish American students to study in Poland this summer. Two scholarships are available for Polish language and culture classes at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The scholarship covers the cost of Session A, a four-week program or Session B, a 6-week program, Both programs begin on July 3rd.
Scholarships are open to Wisconsin residents of Polish descent and other Polish American students who are enrolled in Wisconsin colleges and universities. Applicants must be high school graduates and be at least 18 years old by July 3rd. Undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students are eligible to apply. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. Candidates must submit an on-line application, financial information form, two (2) letters of recommendation, transcripts showing at least 3 years of academic work, and an essay/personal statement discussing why they are applying and what they wish to gain from the program. The scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2019.
Programs include Polish language classes in the morning, culture and history classes in the afternoon, and workshops and cultural events in the evening. Programs also include local sightseeing on weekends. Students are responsible for scholarship application fee, registration fees, single room fees, medical insurance, airfare and out-of-pocket expenses.
