Vice President Biden Meets
With Polish President

Vice President Biden met with President Komorowski of Poland in Rome on Monday, March 18th. The two emphasized the importance of our strong and enduring bilateral ties and the transatlantic relationship more broadly. The Vice President thanked President Komorowski for Poland’s important contributions to international peace and security, including its valued role as a NATO ally with troops serving in Afghanistan, its hosting of a U.S. Air Force Aviation Detachment, and its agreement to host planned Missile Defense assets. On Missile Defense, they discussed the announced adjustments to the European Phased Adaptive Approach and the need to meet evolving missile threats.

Vice President Biden and President Komorowski also discussed a range of other regional and global issues, including the importance of steps to promote financial stability in Europe and spur growth on both sides of the Atlantic through enhanced trade and investment.”
