The Michigan Beat 4-3-13

Well, it hasn’t been that long since you, the readers of the Post Eagle, have heard from me. The fearless leader of the Post Eagle welcomed me, “The Michigan Beat”, to be a part of this year’s Easter Edition which was published last week. The Michigan Beat hopes that everyone had a great Easter this year. Easter for me (The Michigan Beat) is a time of tradition. I look forward to the Blessing of the Easter food, Holy Thursday and Good Friday church services.

There has been one polka dance in west Michigan, since the readers last heard from me. This dance was at the Conklin K of C Hall in Conklin, MI. This dance featured the polka music of “The Stan Mroz Band” from Grand Rapids, MI. There was a nice crowd of a few hundred people. This band always has me, Ryan Krygier, sing “Let’s Have A Party” polka for them. As I always do, I attended this dance with the “Monkey Man” Wayne Lenhart.

On March 3rd there was a dance at the Ludlow, MA PACC Hall. This was to pay tribute to Happy Louie & Julcia. This was also the eighth annual dance with over three hundred people in attendance. Music was by The Maestro’s Men, Eddie Forman, and Lenny Gomulka & Chicago Push. The MC was Mike Matousek.

The band Squeeze Box (Molly B) has been busy, playing for sold out crowds in California, Arizona, Texas & Florida. They also went on a Caribbean Cruise with eight hundred fans! Catch them this coming weekend – Sat. April 6th and Sunday, April 7th in Wausaw, WI at the Howard  Johnsons Hotel.

In the last edition of “The Michigan Beat”, I talked about Sacred Heart of Jesus School and the election of the new Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis the First. I have presented that column to the principal of our school, and the column / article is going to be placed on the school’s website. Please see this website through our diocese website at www.dioceseofgrandrapids.org . Also check out Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School on Facebook!

Also, remember please contact me at rollingreporter@hotmail.com if you have anything for me to report in your area or anywhere in the mid-west!
