To The American Red Cross To Benefit Hurricane Victims
Elmwood Park, N.J. – Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., recently donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross to aid hurricane relief efforts in New Jersey.
“Many communities in the state of New Jersey have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy and are in great need of support and resources,” said José B. Guerrero, Chairman, President and CEO of Spencer Savings Bank. “We are committed to helping our communities and proudly pledge our continued support to the American Red Cross, as the organization works to provide shelter, food, clothes and resources to those affected by Sandy’s wrath.”
Since Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast, the Red Cross has provided shelter for thousands of people in New Jersey, served more than 4.1 million meals and snacks, distributed more than 1.5 million relief items including cleanup kits and hygiene kits, and has provided more than 28,000 health services and emotional support contacts to provide help and comfort to people affected by the storm, since relief efforts began on Oct. 29, 2012.
