Scholarship Recipients Honored
Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia honors scholarship recipients at awards ceremony
PENNSYLVANIA – The Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia held its Annual May Mass and Scholarship Awards Ceremony at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, Pennsylvania on Sunday, May 4, 2014. The Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia awarded $6,000.00 in scholarships.
The church was fully attended by family and friends of the scholarship recipients. Immediately following the mass a luncheon consisting of Polish cuisine and delicacies was served in the cafeteria.

After the luncheon Marie Hejnosz, President of the Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia, welcomed everyone. Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee, Martha Zazyczny, together with Marie Hejnosz recognized each student who received a check in the amount of $1,000.00, in addition to being presented with a bouquet of flowers and a Certificate of Award.
The 2014 recipients were: Anna Filochowska, Philadelphia, PA; Caroline Greydak, Pompton Plains, NJ; Nicole Kuruszko, Brooklyn, NY; Camilla Ostrzycki, Edison, NJ; Michael Szacillo, Madison, NJ; Anna Blalas, Jersey City, NJ.
Anna Filochowska, who attends Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, performed a violin concerto. She wowed the audience with her talent.
Today’s students really work hard and on behalf of the members of the Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia we are very proud of these students and wish them all the best in their career endeavors.
