Raisin Squares

2 ½ c. raisins, soaked and drained
½ c. sugar
2 T. cornstarch
¾ c. water
3 T. lemon juice
¾ c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1¾ c. flour
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. baking soda
1½ c. uncooked oatmeal

Place raisins and sugar in saucepan. Stir cornstarch into water and add to raisins. Add lemon juice. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until thickened. Combine butter and brown sugar. Cream until smooth. Add flour, salt and soda to creamed mixture. Mix well. Add oats. Mix until it has crumb like consistency. Spread ½ oatmeal crumbs in a 9x13x2 inch pan. Pour raisin mixture over it. Cover with remaining crumbs. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
