Pre-K Our Way Applauds
Assemblyman Giblin For Sponsoring
Bipartisan Pre-K Expansion Bill

FLORHAM PARK, N.J.–Pre-K Our Way, a nonprofit, statewide effort that helps New Jersey’s communities bring high-quality pre-k to their children, applaudsAssemblyman Thomas Giblin(D-34) for sponsoringbipartisan legislation to expandNew Jersey’s high-quality preschool program to more than 100 New Jersey communities.

New Jersey has one of the most successful and high-quality public preschool programs in the country; however, fewer than 40 communities have access to one of these programs. Bipartisan legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Giblin, A-2572, calls for the implementation of a 2008 law that expanded preschool programs to more than 100 school districts and provides a specific funding source to support this expansion.

“Pre-K Our Way thanks Assemblyman Giblin for his support of this bi-partisan legislation to ensure more of New Jersey’s three- and four-year olds have access to high-quality early education programs,” said Sam Crane of Pre-K Our Way. “Access to pre-k is proven to provide our kids with a strong and lasting foundation for educational and personal development.  What zip code a child lives in should not determine whether or not he or she has access to pre-k.”

Along with Assemblyman Giblin, Assemblywoman Mila Jasey (D-27), Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-32), Assemblyman Patrick Diegnan (D-18), Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce (R- 26), Assemblyman Ralph Caputo (D-28), Assemblywoman Vainieri Huttle (D-37), and Assemblyman John McKeon (D-27) have signed on as either sponsors or co-sponsors of the legislation.

Assemblyman Giblin represents the 34th Legislative District which includes the communities of Clifton in Passaic County and East Orange, Montclair, and Orange in Essex County.
