Well Polka fans... the time has finally come as the Bayway Polish Club on Pulaski Street in Elizabeth, NJ will be closing their doors forever. Before they do, they will have a “Final Farewell Polka Dance” next Saturday, August 24th. Dancing will be from 6-10 p.m. featuring EFO – Eddie Forman Orch. from Hadley, MA. Pizza & pretzels available. Drink specials with $2.00 beers plus ½ price on mixed drinks. Big Polka Jam Session planned….musicians bring your instruments. All polka fans welcome to come and enjoy, for the final time, a great big “Polka Celebration” as The Polka Capital of The East – The Bayway Polish Club closes its doors and bids a fond farewell to all polka fans. Admission will be just $10.00.  Don’t  miss it!

The German American Cultural Society presents “Fiesta Polka Party Dance” this Sunday, August 18th at the German Club on Carter Ave. in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Doors will open at 1 p.m. with food & cash bar available. Music/ dancing from 2-6 p.m. featuring the popular Polka Family Band from PA. A full house is expected, so come early and enjoy a polka fun-filled Sunday afternoon at the German Club. ATTENTION POLKA FANS……  The scheduled “Polka/ Variety Concert” with Ray Skorka & The Ablemen on July 28th was cancelled due to rain & thunderstorms. The concert has been re-scheduled for next Sunday, August 25th  and will take place at Main Memorial Park located at the corner of Main Street & Park Slope in Clifton, NJ. The 2 hour concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and remember to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. If you have any doubts about iffy weather the day of the Concert, call the Clifton Dept. of Recreation 973-470-5680 for an update. The Ablemen hope to see you there as they “Celebrate 50 Years” of music making.

The “Polish Town Fair & Polka Festival” will be held this Saturday & Sunday August 17-18 at Polish Town USA in Riverhead NY. There will be polka music at the Showmobile with music by Mike Niemiec Variety Band….. Saturday will feature the “Polka Festival” at Polonaise Park from 3:30-10:30 p.m. featuring two (2) top polka bands – Dennis Polisky & The Maestro’s Men plus EFO – Eddie Forman Orch.
