Polish University Club Honors
Walter Tencza, Esq.

NEW JERSEY – The Polish University Club of New Jersey held its 84th Annual Scholarship Ball on January 26th.  One of the functions of the ball is to raise funds for their annual scholarship awards to Polish-American students from New Jersey, but also part of the festivities is to honor a Polonian who has served the community.  This year, the honoree is Walter J. Tencza, Jr. (In photo  L-R: Jadzia Barwick, Wes Warchol, Barbara & Walter Tencza).

In his over 50 years of service as a member of the legal profession, Walter also represented Polish organizations; he served as Grand Marshal for the Central of Polish Organizations in 1968, and for over 30 years was Council to the Association of the Sons of Poland.  He is a life member of the Polish University Club of New Jersey.

Also honored at the Ball were the Chairs of the Scholarship Committees: Carolyn Hamming, Carol Lee Gorson-Weber, and Eugene O’Neill.
