Produced by Bogdan Kowalski, a “Ref-Ren Theater” chronicler from the era of the 1980s and 1990s, and presented by Discovery Video Studio, “Ref-Ren” is a two-part film that delves into different facets of Feliks Konarski’s life.
The first part of the documentary introduces viewers to the pre-World War II profile of Feliks Konarski, showcasing his early life, and highlighting his significant role in the 2nd Corps during the war and subsequent emigration to London. The use of archival materials from the National Film Archive, especially those from World War II, adds a unique historical perspective to this segment.
The second part of the film is dedicated to Feliks Konarski, known as Ref-Ren, and his wife Nina Oleńska’s life and work in Chicago. This section provides an intimate look at their artistic endeavors and the impact they had on the cultural landscape of Chicago. The language of the film is Polish, honoring the cultural heritage of Feliks Konarski.
