Opening Day 2016 At The
Ringwood Farmers’ Market

Ringwood, NJ – The Ringwood Farmers’ Market’s Opening Day on Saturday, May 28th will mark the start of its 9th season providing locally grown produce and products each Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Ringwood Park and Ride.  Customers will be welcomed bythe Eat Local, Inc. board of directors with a 10AM ribbon cutting ceremony. Vendors look forward to greeting familiar faces and meeting new customers.
Many of last year’s vendors are returning along with new vendors, providing customers with a wide variety of locally grown and produced food. Shop for the freshest local fruits and vegetables along with the area’s finest baked goods, honey, farm-fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, lamb, pork and poultry, homemade jam, fresh pasta and ravioli, gluten free entrees, pizza, gluten free baked goods, pickles, hot coffee, sandwiches, herbs, plants and so much more!
Each week the market will feature an artisan vendor, non-profit corner and Music at the Market.  Pop artist Garrett Gardner, a top 12 contender on Season 4 of The Voice, will be performing on Opening Day from 10AM to 12PM.  Gardner is a 20 year old pop star, singer and songwriter from Ringwood who performs funky pop, rock and blues.  He performed as a member of the band Zerotwenty based in Amsterdam composed of contestants on The Voice from all over the world. The Music at the Market program is made possible in part by a sponsorship from TD Bank.
In continuing the effort to bring fresh, local produce to the Ringwood community, the Ringwood Farmers’ Market is now able to accept EBT (Food Stamp & Cash Assistance Benefits — SNAP) cards.  EBT card holders can go to the Market Manager tent and use their benefits to purchase “Green Market Bucks”.  The Ringwood Farmers’ Market will give you double the value on these bucks, up to $20. The “Green Market Bucks” can then be used to purchase eligible food and beverages at the market.
The Ringwood Park & Ride is located on Cannici Drive off of Skyline Drive behind Ringwood Commons and next to the Ringwood Public Library. The Ringwood Farmers’ Market is a project of Eat Local, Inc, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, dedicated to bringing local foods to Ringwood.
