One Year At Power of One’s
Coaching Office In Clifton
By Kim Castellano
CLIFTON, NJ – March 3, 2018 we opened our doors to the community of Clifton and surrounding areas.
Since then, we’ve helped people through tough times by providing temporary emergency housing, food packages, car repairs, gas and supermarket cards.
We’ve connected families with Hope that has led them out of homelessness and crisis.
We’ve offered new parents a safe place to come and ask the hard questions in our coaching office. A place that leaves parents feeling empowered and encouraged as they parent their little ones either together with their spouse or as a single parent. Parenting is difficult, done right it can be the most rewarding gift you can receive in life.
Our coaching office has been a place to listen to many people struggling with mental illnesses and addictions. We’ve encouraged them to continue to care for themselves and to get the help they need. We’ve offered coaching workshops that offered our clients compassionate friendly reminders of self care and to continue with their Dr. visits. This past year through the coaching office, we’ve encouraged and equipped many people to live a more fulling life.

This past summer at the park on Van Houten Ave Clifton we offered a new program in the community offering Summer Literacy. Today, children and families are still talking about the story time in the park. The impact in the park has helped us launch a New Partnership with the Main Memorial Public Library this past fall.
Connecting Families to Community once a month held at the Clifton Main Library. Families can ask questions about Education, Health or Career and our volunteers will help connect them to resources available to them.
The Back2School Outreach has grown so HUGE that we are currently looking for a new Clifton location to host the summer collections during July and August. We collected 640 full backpacks and distributed them to our Principals at Title 1 Schools K-8 and families we serve in the Clifton community.
Our (3) Three Hunger Doesn’t Stop Food Drives are now being sponsored by Kearny Bank in Clifton. A huge relief as we feed families during school breaks. We’re happy to have them partner with us.
Diamond Braces of New Jersey donated twenty-three (23) refurbished All- In- One computers. We identified our families who we serve and gave them away to individuals that had a need of use to further their success in either their education or personal growth. School 4 Clifton families were among the many people to receive the computers.
Clifton children and families experienced the Joy of Christmas at our Power of One Christmas Party and toy giveaway in December. Many thanks to the Clifton Community, Clifton Fire Dept, Boys and Girls Club and the COOP.
