New Polish Films
The 2025 KF Washington DC Polish Film Festival begins this coming Tuesday, March 5 and will continue on till Sunday, March 9 at the Landmark’s E Street Cinema. It will feature a selection of new Polish films, providing an opportunity to experience Polish culture, special events, and interact with Polish and American filmmakers.

Synopsis
The transition from childhood to adulthood is tough for young women, especially in a world where sexuality is misunderstood and accountability often evaded. Fifteen-year-old Klara faces a trauma that shakes her faith in the future. Through the unexpected support of unlikely friends, and the deep traditions of Polish Easter, she begins to heal. The film shows how youth’s resilience, mixed with something magical, leads to a powerful, comforting recovery.

Synopsis

Her presence disrupts his routines, pushing out what once defined his life and making room for new experiences. As he navigates the changes, he learns to make the most of life’s unexpected turns. The film is a delightful journey from start to finish.

Synopsis
Marcin is an egocentric actor who must confront the unexpected end of a long-term relationship. The story unfolds through three stage performances, where fantasy blends with the reality of a couple separating. In Seasons, Michał Grzybowski uses the traditional three-act structure in an ironically literal way, setting key moments of Marcin and Ola’s relationship against the backdrop of three plays: Peter Pan, A Doll’s House, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Synopsis
Set in the 70s in the small Polish town of Ustrzyki Dolne, Siczka and his friends form a punk rock band and send a letter to Radio Free Europe, which is read on air. This act doesn’t sit well with the authorities, and soon, Siczka finds himself interrogated by the Secret Police, who launch Operation Razor to dismantle the band. In Soviet Poland, where conformity was key, Western punk rock posed a real threat, amplified by the enthusiastic response from the local youth. Ultimately, even the Secret Police are caught off guard by Siczka and the rebellious music.
