New Cancer Support Group
Restoring People’s Hope
During Their Journey
CLIFTON, NJ – Power of One is proud to announce their new support group for cancer patients, caregivers and survivors called Cancer? Choose Hope. This new support group will meet monthly to provide encouragement and support for those who are struggling with cancer. Their first meeting will be Wednesday February 27th at the Power of One Coaching office located at 796 Van Houten Avenue in Clifton. They will offer two sessions, one in the morning from 11:30am-1pm and the other in the evening from 6:30 pm-8 pm.
Director Kim Castellano of Power of One is a long-time volunteer with American Cancer Society (ACS) where she serves as an event lead for Clifton’s Relay for Life. Additionally, Castellano served as a member of ACS’s event staff for their annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event held in Ridgefield Park. The Power of One has seen struggling caregivers attend their stress coaching groups looking for relief and someone to talk to. Castellano always knew she needed to provide the community with a support group that could serve those impacted by cancer, but the timing was never right. Over the past year, a group of passionate women have come together and started to plan and execute the launch, and the timing is right.
The new support group’s purpose is to provide a compassionate community to support and encourage cancer patients, survivors and caregivers throughout their walk with cancer. Cancer? Choose Hope provides a safe, welcoming environment where one can share their successes and challenges. By helping one another, together we can choose hope and see it work in our lives.
