1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1⁄4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1/4 c. ground almonds
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Almond extract

Cream butter and add one-third cup of sugar and cream well. Add 1 egg and cream well and add one-third cup flour and cream well. Repeat until sugar, eggs and butter are used up. Add 1/4 cup ground almonds and cream well. Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 3 to 4 drops almond extract and cream well. Pour into a square buttered pan and bake at 325˚ for 30 minutes.
Before putting in oven sprinkle top with some ground almonds.
