CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Arts Center presents “Art Truck by the Montclair Art Museum” on Wednesday, May 25th from 5 pm-7 pm. This interactive art workshop is free and open to the public. Supplies and seating are limited. First come, first serve basis. No reservations needed.
The Montclair Art Museum is coming to Clifton Arts Center by serving up art. You can make and take an art project. All ages are welcome to visit the Clifton Arts Center. Discover the visual arts and be part of the creative process. You can also view the art gallery exhibit: “Urban Tribal” by Dan Fenelon, who is also the artist-in-residence for the MAM truck. For Fenelon, the underlying purpose of the truck is to demonstrate that “art is for everybody”. He states, “It’s not something you have to go and see in a museum. You can participate.”
As the City of Clifton’s centennial year draws near, Clifton Arts Center would like to engage more deeply with the community at large by offering this free opportunity to all age groups. All are welcome to visit and see the gallery, but also participate. The MAM art truck collaboration and the exhibit by Dan Fenelon is another initiative of this community effort. Special thanks and support is acknowledged in part by the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council from funds granted by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
Gallery hours are from Wednesday through Saturday ~ 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Group tours are available by appointment.
The Clifton Arts Center Gallery first opened to the public in January of 2000 and more than 37,000 visitors have enjoyed art exhibits, history and cultural events. The Clifton Arts Center is located on the grounds of the Clifton Municipal Complex near the Well Water., which is above the Recycling Center. Admission fee is three dollars.
