Linden Police and First Responders
Throughout Tri-State Area
Praised By NJSPBA President

(WOODBRIDGE, NJ)- New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association President Patrick Colligan  released the following statement praising the Linden Police Department and the federal, state and local law enforcement community for their exemplary work in catching a suspect recently in the recent bombings in New York and New Jersey.  The Linden police officers were able to apprehend the suspect after he initiated a shootout.

“The officers involved in apprehending the suspect are nothing short of heroes,” said Colligan.  “We had officers shot today that are alive because of bulletproof vests and the Grace of God and for that we are all very thankful.  Just like police around the state and across the U.S. do every single day, these heroic officers charged towards the gunfire in order to make the arrest.  The work we have seen in New York and New Jersey over the past three days from our First Responders in clearing potentially dangerous sites, ensuring the safety of communities throughout the tri-state area and then identifying and capturing a suspect in a matter of hours is simply outstanding.  The fact is that the timely apprehension of this suspect may well have saved others from being injured in another senseless bombing, and I would like to thank all of the officers involved for their heroic actions.”
