Our Country In Trouble
“A Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse (the dole of “free” money) from the public treasury.
“From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the state, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policies, always followed by a dictatorship.
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilization has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependency; from dependency back to bondage again.”
The above was written by Professor Alexander Tyler, 200 years ago.
America learn your history.
God bless America, God bless our troops, and remember…

Agrees That Ukraine’s Revolution Must Be Saved
Re: “Opinion” article – February 12, 2014 “How To Help Save Ukraine’s Revolution” by Stephen Blank
I found the “Opinion” article (above) quite moving, and I agree that Ukraine’s Revolution must be saved. Furthermore, on this issue, I have my question, my answer, and my concern for consideration.
Question: Why aren’t the good people of Ukraine able to rid themselves of their socialistic, dictatorial leaders, who are, in turn, controlled by the Russian dictator – Putin?
Answer: The good people of Ukraine are simply not able to defend themselves from the totalitarian dictators. They are not able to attain the freedoms of a capitalistic democracy. They are not able to fight for their liberties. They are not able to defend themselves from armed violence because they themselves have no guns or ammunition. They are out-gunned.
Concern: Under the current President of the USA, and his administration’s policies, I do not see the USA being much help to Ukraine. With this administration, it’s “what difference does it make?” And with this administration, America has its own issues regarding freedoms. For example, this administration’s incessant efforts to establish “gun control,” – their euphemistic term to confiscate guns and ammunition from law-abiding American citizens. It is an attempt to fundamentally change America. Losing one freedom leads to easily losing other freedoms. Think about it. Give it some consideration.
Anyway, good luck to Ukraine!… and good luck USA!

Government Incompetence
RE: Letter to Editor “Humor or Deception” by Martin Byster in PE 2/12/14
To Mr. Martin Byster!
Sir! The reasons for my disbelief of these programs, simply put are that their track record is dismal and all programs were based on lies. As usual they overemphasized benefits and under estimated costs to get public acceptance. Further more for these programs to exist, moneys have to be taken from the Producer and transferred to the non Producer.
SS was enacted into law August 14, 1935 as a supplement to a worker’s retirement income. That turned out to be a lie. FDR promised every worker will have his own personal account. That went by the wayside as One has an account number but nothing in the account. That’s another lie.
FDR said every worker could retire with a monthly check at age 65. Oh boy, that’s great, except the average life span of a worker at that time was 62! That’s what I call real con job. You can see that Commie Frankie Roosevelt was a real con artist.
Ida May Fuller retired in 1960 and received the first ever SS check. She paid a total of $24.75 into SS but she received a total $22,889 in benefits. Fast forward 30 years. A person known to me retired in 1990. Since that time he received to date a total $331,000 in benefits, yet he only paid in $22,000.
There are millions like him on SS getting more than they invested. How on earth could these people receive so much with so little invested and with no interest ? Care to guess?
And now Medicare! When enacted in 1965 its cost was estimated to be $9 billion. Now the total costs for Medicare in FY 2013 was a whooping 536 billion.
Education was started with the initial cost of $25 Billion. Now it ballooned to $108 Billion for FY 2013.
Obama Care was estimated to cost approx. $800 Billion? But CBO estimated cost came in at $1.3 Trillion. Obama Care was sold on the lies that you can keep your Doctor, Insurance and it will cost you less. Sounds like FDR all over again.
But like I stated in my previous letter, Gov. can’t do anything right as all of their Programs are based on lies.
Sincerely
Alexander Karwoski
