Joint Base Set To Host 2014 Mud Run
JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST, N.J. – The joint base is set to host the 2014 “Beast of the East” Mud Run here Sept. 13, 2014.
The mud run is open to surrounding community members and gives them the opportunity to experience a day of challenges, competitions, creative costumes and plenty of mud with joint base service members.
Participants will begin and end on Doughboy Field and slip and slide through more than 20 obstacles of asphalt, dirt, water holes and mud pits.
All Mud Run participants or teams are required to register by filling out the online form. Each participant can choose whether they want to participate in the 5K or 10K course. Once registered, participants will be divided into civilian or military categories to compete for prizes within several male/female age groups.
All participants and spectators are required to carry photo identification at all times and should be prepared for random vehicle and personal searches. No coolers, bottles or weapons will be permitted. Mud Run participants and spectators should be prepared for additional delays when entering the base, due to elevated security measures.
