It’s Hot In Afghanistan
CLIFTON, NJ – Volunteers from the Clifton Cares Project will be meeting again in September to box supplies for our soldiers in some very hot countries. We have had some pretty hot days here but nothing like 120 degrees, every day.
On your next trip to do your shopping, please add to your list… freezer pops, lemonade or ice tea powdered packets. Of course, cookies, candy, beef jerky, gum and Rommen noodles (a favorite) are welcomed in any weather.
We are always in need of monetary donations so we can continue with the mailings. Postage is now $16.85, so your check for 1 box or any amount you can donate is appreciated. The Clifton Cares volunteers will be at the Van Houten Avenue Street Fair on 9/18/16. Please stop by and sign a holiday card or note for Veterans Day. We appreciate your support and of course your donations to keep our project going, especially since our Holiday packing usually has us mailing 175 packages of goodies and love. That mailing will be close to $3000!!
Please continue bringing supplies to City Hall and/or make a donation towards postage. Stop and see Lizz Gagnon at the Tax Office at City Hall with your check or mail it to her at City Hall. Checks should be payable to Lizz Gagnon and earmarked as Clifton Cares.
