Illinois Celebrates Pulaski Day

Comptroller Munger speaks at Polish Museum of America

CHICAGO –Illinois Comptroller Leslie Geissler Munger joined elected officials and community leaders at The Polish Museum of America in celebration of Casimir Pulaski Day Monday, March 7.

“Today we are here to celebrate the life of Polish American freedom fighter Casimir Pulaski, the ‘Father of the American Cavalry,’ and honor him for his service to our country,” Munger said. “But as we stand beneath this epic painting of the Battle at Savannah where General Pulaski paid the ultimate price for our freedom, we must also honor the entire Polish Community for all you have done for this city, our state and our country.”

Comptroller Munger also thanked members of her Polish American Advisory Board that were in attendance for keeping an open dialogue on matters important to the Polish Community.
