NEW JERSEY – The Immaculate Conception High School Community held a festive lunch for the Felician Sisters as part of their 2014 Mission and Heritage Week activities. Almost thirty Felician Sisters joined the faculty, staff and student body at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2014. The purpose of the lunch was to express the gratitude of the ICHS Community for establishing and sponsoring this high school which is celebrating its centennial this year.
Each Sister who attended was given a “Centennial Gift Package” containing a magnet, post-its, pen, clip and bookmark with “100” and the words “Immaculate Conception High School, Celebrating our Felician Heritage.” Each Sister also received a yellow rose. A luncheon buffet, a delicious “thank you” cake and school tours were also on the agenda.
Mr. Joseph Azzolino, President/Principal of ICHS, thanked the Sisters for their support of the school. He also promised to lead the entire community in the following spirit: “Engage your heart in all that you are passionate about and accentuate the positive and recognize those random acts of kindness.” A special bulletin board in the cafeteria, arranged for the Centennial of the School, will be the posting place for all the random acts of kindness. Hundreds of random acts were numbered in the kindness of the ICHS school community in hosting the Felician Sisters for lunch!
True Franciscan Fellowship pervaded in the cafeteria as Sisters, faculty, staff and students ate lunch together.
Before the Sisters left the luncheon, a wonderful historic group photo was taken.
Dessert for the luncheon captured the message as ICHS thanked the Felician Sisters for their school marking its 100th anniversary.
