Vyacheslav Glazkov dominated Tomasz Adamek in their NBC Sports televised main event in Bethlehem, PA. The Sand Event Center was packed to standing room only and favored Adamek. Ukraine’s Glazkov (17-0-1, 11 KOs), a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, was faster and stronger. The 30 year old easily won a 12-round unanimous decision. The win secures the number two spot in the IBF heavyweight rankings. “I felt I was winning almost every round,” Glazkov said. “I knew I won the fight.’’ Adamek (49-3, 29 KOs) was courageous, but he didn’t resemble the crafty fighter who won world titles at light heavyweight and cruiserweight. Glazkov’s jarring jabs, hard right hands and powerful counter left hooks caused severe swelling beneath Adamek’s right eye during the second round. Adamek, 37, had difficulty defending himself for most of the remaining 10 rounds. “I lost the fight,” Adamek said later. “He was better tonight.” Adamek isn’t sure if he’ll continue a career in which he became a huge draw at Prudential Center in Newark after moving from Poland to New Jersey in 2008.
