Free Legal Workshop For Women
“Legal Issues In Divorce”
Wayne, NJ. Women in Transition hosts this free workshop, “Legal Issues In Divorce” facilitated by attorney Janet L. Porro. Janet L. Porro, Esq. has been practicing family law since 1985 and specializes in matters related to divorce, domestic violence and child custody. The discussion will include recent updates to family law and alimony, knowing your legal rights and responsibilities, how to choose an attorney, what mediation is and what you can do before seeking legal advice. Open to all women who are interested in learning more about the legal and financial issues of separation and divorce, the workshop will take place on Monday, May 13th from 7:00-8:30 at Wayne Counseling Center. Women In Transition assists women who need to re-enter the workforce due to separation, divorce, or the death or disability of a spouse, resulting in the loss of their primary source of financial support. WIT is funded by the State of New Jersey, Division on Women, and offers vocational testing, job readiness and assertive communication classes, separation and divorce support groups, as well as computer training at no cost for eligible women.

Wayne Counseling and Family Services (973-694-1234) provides counseling for drug and alcohol abuse, and treatment for marital, family, and mental health problems.
