Festival of Wreaths
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Join us for what is truly a one of a kind experience – celebrating Polish culture, music and dance on the National Mall on Saturday, June 24th, 6:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool Steps. Wianki is the popular Polish midsummer festival which features live music, dancing, and ancient traditions dating back centuries, and celebrating it on the National Mall is an experience unlike any other.
This year’s festivities will feature performances by Ojczyzna Polish Dancers, Wiślanie Polish Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, both from Baltimore, Mazury Folk Dance Ensemble from Atlanta, and PKM Polish Folk Dance Ensemble from Philadelphia. The event will be led by Stasia and Olek Skrypczuk of the Joyful Skrypczuk Duo who are fixtures at Wianki for many years and ensure that all who attend the festivities feel welcome! Polish and American national anthems will be sung by soprano Laura Kafka-Price.
Invite your friends and family, pack a picnic blanket or some lawn chairs, and join us on a warm Summer evening for an unforgettable experience! The event is free and open to the public.
We thank the Embassy of the Republic of Poland for their generous support for PAAA Wianki 2023.
