Felician Institute To Host
10th Annual Ethics Conference

Rutherford, NJ — The Felician Institute for Ethics and Public Affairs is sponsoring its 10th annual conference on Saturday, April 23, 2016. The event will be held on Felician University’s Rutherford campus, Education Commons, 227 Montross Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The conference will feature nationally recognized philosophers discussing a variety of issues in ethics and political philosophy, including the ethics of civic life, property rights, reproductive rights, and compensation for corporate CEOs, among many other topics. The plenary speaker is J.L.A. Garcia of Boston College, speaking on “Grounding the Meta-Theory of Morals.”

There will be a special session at 4 p.m. on the ethics, economics, and politics of adjuncting, featuring papers by Michelle Ciurria (Washington University, St. Louis) and Derek Bowman (Providence College). This session is the first in a planned series of events on the topic sponsored by the Institute.

Attendance is free for members of the Felician University community (students, faculty, staff, and Sisters). A $20 registration fee will be charged for non-Felician attendees, $10 for adjuncts or graduate students. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
