“Elf” …. A Christmas Treat

NEW JERSEY – A true crowd pleaser in every way is the stage rendition of “Elf” being performed at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ through January 4, 2015. Music Director Dominick Amendum conducts a terrific orchestra that makes it easy to sing the tunes comprised by Matthew Sklar who wrote the music and Chad Beguelin who penned the lyrics in this stage adaption of a holiday movie Christmas season 21st century standard.

“Elf”, brought to life by Will Ferrell on the silver screen, is transformed into a stage version with a salient plot and a Radio City Music Hall Christmas time treat.   Choreographed by Josh Rhodes, the lively cast sings and dances their way into creating a story that brings warmth to your heart of an “Elf” turned human looking for family and love.

The theme and music is pleasant and attention grabbing for children yet still vibrant enough for all ages as the set, sound, and costumes keep your eyes focused on the quick pace of the show.

If you want to avoid the traffic of New York City or have already seen the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show, “Elf” offers a fine night out for the family. My daughter Talia, seven years old, has been singing the tunes since opening night.
