Doreen Delancy-Williams Dedication
CLIFTON, NJ – Join the Clifton Board of Recreation and the family and friends of the late Doreen Delancy-Williams as they conduct a Celebration of Life and plaque unveiling on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Robin Hood Park, 23 Standish Drive, Clifton, NJ. Doreen was a member of the Board of Recreation for 24 years, serving as the board president for more than 10 of those years. She served as a member of the Youth Week Committee for 40 years, serving as its Chairwoman for 34 years: has volunteered for many Recreation Department special events and had assisted on various committees to improve recreation in Clifton.
Doreen Delancy-Williams passed away on April 9, 2018. Known for her hard work and lifelong devotion to Clifton, Doreen began volunteering when she was just 10 years old with the City of Clifton’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. That volunteer spirit continued throughout her life as she served on the committees of: Jubilee City Picnic Celebration, Welcome Home the Troops Concert, Clifton’s 75th Anniversary as well as the 80th, 85th and 90th Anniversaries, Mayors Special Events and the Clifton Fireworks.
On April 28th a plaque will be placed, in her honor, at Robin Hood Park near her house, where she enjoyed many good times during her childhood so that family and friends can sit in the park and reflect about the amazing person that was Doreen Delancy- Williams.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Williams, daughters, Sheryll and Meaghan Franko, granddaughter Chloe Skye Landrith, step-son Michael Capwell and brother Michael Delancy.
