Don’t Ever Be Afraid To Speak Out For Jesus!!!

Greetings from Rev. Charles DiMascola:
Robert Frost said that “Half the world is composed of people who have something to say and can’t, and the other half who have nothing to say and keep on saying it!” This is a great quote…… but I have to counter with the FACT that our problem today is that in spite of the loud stupidity of the evil men of the world…… if the good of the world remain silent, then we are actually, effectively, and forcefully contributing to the evil!!!!

We have to speak out and speak up and make the evil of the world aware that they are not going to have a free pass to perpetuate their stupidity, violence, sin, darkness, fear, chaos, hypochondria, and confusion! The serious problem today is that the demons of the world seem to be in charge of the media in a big way and they are convincing many people that sin is OK and acceptable, and that, if we are to consider ourselves Christians, we have to tolerate the sinners in their sin and stupidity!

Paul Joseph Goebbels was a German Nazi politician who was the Gauleiter of Berlin, chief propagandist for the Nazi Party, and then Reich Minister of Propaganda from 1933 to 1945. He truly understood the power of words for good or evil. He once remarked that “If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.” It is interesting how the powers of darkness today have used everything from literature, fake news, music and even sappy situation comedies on TV to slowly and effectively make us accept sin as normal, good, and healthy and to reject sin as being intolerant, hateful and bigoted.

Eric Metazas, in his excellent book LETTER TO THE AMERICAN CHURCH asks “What are we afraid of? If God be for us, who can be against us? If we believe God demands we speak the truth as see it for His purposes, how have we so easily let ourselves be turned aside into silence?”

We in the Church today have been silent too long. Our fear of appearing to mix religion and politics has made us paranoid and dumb. Martin Luther King, Jr. made a powerful point that I’m afraid too many good people today are guilty of, when he said that “he who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it!”

Having said all that….. it is a frightening thing to publicly stand up and speak out….. and it does make one a bit vulnerable and singular….. BUT…. St. John Paul II tells us that “there is no evil to be faced that Christ does not face with us. There is no enemy that Christ has not already conquered. There is no cross to bear that Christ has not already borne for us and does not now bear with us.” Bottom line: Jesus is with us, and we are not alone!!!!!

We may often feel like a small minority, and we may often made to feel that God’s Way is not the not the way of the world, not the acceptable way to travel, and that we must be wrong, offensive and all alone in our fight for God and His Way….. but we have to be vigorously reminded, and keep in mind, that “a lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right and evil doesn’t become good just because it’s accepted by a majority.”(Booker T. Washington)

One of the most dangerous and popular attitudes today is to profess an image of tolerance, acceptance and love for sinners in their sin by pretending that the sin is no longer sin and it never was. That evil is no longer evil or harmful or deadly. Our day and age has done an amazing, twisted bit of satanic “magic” in making stupidity, evil, and deadly sinful things to appear good, healthy, and beautiful.

Pope Pius XII reminded us that “We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction.” …..Being Pew Potatoes and lounging in our Lazy Boys watching reruns of Lavern and Shirley are not options for a Christian! We have work to do!
Soooo….. we have a Christian duty to:
1. Know and study the Truth.
2. Know and study the Way of Jesus Christ and HIS Church.
3. Speak the Truth no matter who it offends.
4. Speak the Truth no matter how alone we might be and how unpopular the truth might be.
5. Never give in to a perverse tolerance of sin. We must love the sinner but we must always hate and condemn the sin. We must always understand the total evil, depravity, and the ugly danger of sin…. No matter how society today whitewashes it, accepts and tolerates it!
6. Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen reminds us that “Moral Principles do not depend on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong even if everybody is wrong. Right is right even if nobody is right.”
7. Know that Jesus is always with us in His Love and Power….. we are NOT alone! God bless you, Fr. Charles
