Disney’s Beauty & The Beast
A 5 Star Production!
by Jim Dombrowski
Disney’s Beauty & The Beast at New Jersey’s best regional theater, The Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, is running now through July 3rd. It is a 5 Star Production and a must see. The Disney love story which led to a fabulous Broadway run and a national tour has a musical score which stays in your memory for a lifetime.
In photo: Tally Sessions who plays The Beast chats with Jad at the post Opening Night Party. Tally has many Broadway credits to his name. His portrayal as the Beast is superb; he plays his role with vigor and his voice is outstanding! Tally has performed in South Pacific and Anastasia with an appearance on the hit TV Show Elementary.
The cast for the Paper Mill’s production of Beauty & The Beast which was put together by Telsey & Company and Rebecca Scholl, along with Music Director Michael Borth and Choreography by Alex Sanchez, make up one of the best shows I have reviewed at the Paper Mill in the past 10 seasons. Tally Sessions who plays the Beast and the Prince is remarkable. Stacia Fernandez who plays Mrs.Potts, a role made famous by the legendary Angela Lansbury, is touching in her role which includes the theme song, “Beauty & The Beast.”
Photo by Bethy: Post Eagle Reporter Jim Dombrowski congratulates Music Director/ Conductor Michael Borth for his direction of a very difficult score. Conductor Borth explained that the music for Beauty & The Beast which is similar to The Phantom of the Opera is very complicated. “The movement and pace is different at each performance due to the large number of cast members on stage; it is very challenging yet highly satisfying,” noted Borth. Jad and Talia, on right of Jim, both loved the production.
If you have not been to the Paper Mill this season get there by July 3rd as this show will make you cry with happiness. This show marks the last one for the 2018-19 season.
