Chefs Receive Standing Applause at 1st Annual Hartford PNH CT Beer & Polish Food Pairing Entertainment Event
March 22, 2016 (Hartford, CT) – The Polish National Home of Hartford pulled off another successful, unique food, beverage and entertainment event with their “CT Beer and Polish Food Pairing Night” on March 19th.
Fashioned after their first ever “Connecticut Game Dinner & Pairings Night”, this event also featured Connecticut craft beverages paired with unique Polish cuisine and live entertainment throughout the evening by the talented group of performers from Theatre of Imagination Novum.
Guests were treated to a beer samplings hour featuring City Steam Brewery, Black Hog Brewery and Back East Brewery. Three courses were served and before each serving, the hosts provided a description of the dish, the pairing and introduction to a set of songs to be performed during the course.
Towards the end of the evening, before the announcement of raffle prizes winners, the hosts from the Polish National Home introduced the PNH Chefs who created the evening’s menu. The Chef’s received an enthusiastic and thunderous round of applause from the guests, clearly pleasantly surprising Chef Jason and Chef Jeff at the warm reception.
The Chef’s created a menu which included: Kielbasa Mousse appetizer, Chrupki Pan paired with City Steam Naughty Nurse Ale, Karkowka Sauerbraten paired with Black Hog Ginga Ninja IPA, and a fresh-made, Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich encrusted with pretzels, peanuts and potato chips, served with a chocolate stout ganache and paired with Back East Imperial Stout.
The Hartford PNH has been an anchor and focal point in the community since it’s opening in 1930. Established to educated and celebrate Polish heritage and culture, the club also supports the local culture within its shared community. This year marked the Polish National Home of Hartford’s 85th anniversary. The Hartford PNH was designated a national historic landmark in 1983.
