Crazy Horse Memorial
Ruth’s Night Blast

Crazy Horse, SD – June 26, 2015 is your opportunity to see Crazy Horse Mountain Carving light up in an exhilarating display of pyrotechnics. Ruth’s Night Blast, celebrates the birthday of the late Ruth Ziolkowski(1926 – 2014), wife of the late Crazy Horse sculptor. Ruth’s passion, persistence, vision and leadership will continue to be an inspiration to us all.

The day also commemorates the Battle of the Little Big Horn (June 25, 1876). The Battle of the Little Big Horn, also known as Custer’s Last Stand, was a decisive victory for the Lakota. Crazy Horse was a main strategist in the defeat of Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and his troops.

Visitors to Crazy Horse Memorial on June 26, will be able to enjoy many other activities throughout the complex. Native American dance performances will be at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 6:30 & 8:30 pm. Hands-on activities will be held for children in the NATIVE AMERICAN EDUCATIONAL & CULTURAL CENTER® and from 6 pm to 9 pm there will be a special flute performance. Of course, no birthday would be complete without cake! Stop in the Laughing Water Restaurant after the blast for birthday cake.
