LYNDHURST, NJ – Joined by volunteers and elected officials from across Bergen, Passaic and Hudson Counties, Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr. this weekend officially kicked off his campaign for re-election with the grand opening of his headquarters in Lyndhurst, located right in the heart of the Bergen County community at 459 Valley Brook Avenue.
“Now more than ever, northern New Jerseyans needs a fighter in their corner that’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and fight against the special interests that are only interested in lining their own pockets,” said Pascrell. “Whether it’s raising the minimum wage, fixing our broken immigration system, repairing our crumbling infrastructure or supporting an economic climate that creates new jobs, I hope to continue to fight on behalf of my constituents and let their voices be heard in DC.”
Pascrell, who is seeking his tenth term in Congress, was first elected to the United States House of Representatives as congressman for New Jersey’s 8th Congressional District in 1996. In 2012, Pascrell was elected to represent the newly redrawn 9th Congressional District, which includes part of Passaic, Hudson and Bergen Counties.
Pascrell currently serves on the House Budget Committee and is the only member of the New Jersey delegation to serve on the powerful House Ways and Means Committees.
“I spent my life committed to serving the public as a teacher, mayor, state legislator and now proudly as a Member of Congress. I look forward to continue this service by fighting on behalf of middle class families across our nation and building an economy that works for everyone,” concluded Pascrell.
