As you may have heard, Clifton’s very own Rachel Zegler has been cast as the new star of Steven Spielberg’s highly-anticipated West Side Story reboot. Competing among an audition pool of more than 30,000 actors, Rachel shined above the rest. And having heard some of her singing myself, I cannot say I’m surprised by her casting; Rachel’s talent is extraordinary.
I could not be more proud of Rachel’s achievements. In an era where we are finally emphasizing the importance of representation in major films, Rachel’s casting is especially important. On behalf of myself, my staff, and the entire Ninth Congressional District, I want to congratulate Rachel on this remarkable accomplishment. I cannot wait to see the movie!
