Comradery and Comrad

Today’s words are – COMRADERY and COMRAD.

COMRADERY means – FRIENDLINESS.

COMRAD means – A PERSON WHO SHARES ONE’S INTERESTS OR ACTIVITIES, A FRIEND.

The Latin word – CAMERA – means – A ROOM AT AN INN. In Ancient Roman times, it took much longer for people to get from one place to another than it does today. Travelers often made long treks by foot that were several days long. In the evening, they would try to find a room at an inn, or a CAMERA, where they could stay the night. Often, they had to share a room with other travelers they had never met before. Staying in such close quarters together often led to new friendships, or COMRADERY. It was an interesting way to make COMRADS.
