Clifton To Hold Public Information Session, October 9th
Clifton, New Jersey – In August, City Council authorized Neglia Engineering to conduct a pedestrian safety study along the much debated Dwas Line Road. Although many residents would like to see sidewalks installed, there are those that object and would prefer alternate traffic calming measures taken into consideration. Thus the intent of the study is to have a professional traffic safety expert make appropriate and objective suggestions based on figures that include the volume of Dwas Line Road traffic, the speed of the drivers, pedestrian volume and crossings, as well as other indicators.
On October 9th, 2013 at 6:00 pm City Engineer, Dominick Villano and Neglia Engineering will be holding a public information session at City Hall to inform residents of the study and garner their opinions as to what options may be evaluated. The City realizes that this has been a much contested subject and seeks to assure its residents that the most appropriate actions will be taken based on expert evaluation. City Manager Matt Watkins said “It’s important for residents to attend if they want to receive direct information, and have their opinions heard as we try to address important pedestrian safety issues.”
