Clifton Safety Town
Announces Applications Available For
2019 Safety Town Program

CLIFTON, NJ – The Clifton Safety Town Committee is proud to announce the 2019 Safety Town Program will take place Monday, July 22, 2019 through Friday, August 2, 2019. Safety Town is for children entering kindergarten in a Clifton School in September 2019. Children entering 1st grade are welcome if they have not attended the program previously. This two-week program is organized entirely by hardworking and dedicated volunteers.

Safety Town is modeled after a national program designed to educate and train children in safety through the involvement of real life situations. A miniature town with streets, buildings, and traffic signs are used. “Big wheels” will also be provided as part of the program to give further instruction. Guest speakers will be there to teach and demonstrate important lessons in fire, electrical, pool and road safety, as well as nutrition, first aid, drug prevention and dental hygiene.

The entire program will take a total of approximately 30 hours; scheduled between 8:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Clifton Public School # 2, 1270 Van Houten Ave. The fee is $25.00 per child to cover the cost of supplies. Registration can be done online at www.cliftonrec.com or in-person at City Hall (900 Clifton Avenue, Recreation Department). The deadline to submit an application is July 8, 2019. If you have any questions, call Mayor James Anzaldi @ 973-470-5757 or Lauren Scarfo @ 973-470-5758.
