NEW JERSEY – Have you noticed a little bit more purple in Clifton lately? The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Clifton teams are “PAINTING THE TOWN PURPLE”. (In photo: Committee accepting Proclamation for PTTP (paint the town purple) from Clifton Council and Mayor).
The purple ribbons are to raise awareness that those lives lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. All traffic intersections have been tied with purple ribbons and they can be seen blowing beautifully on a windy day.
Our traditional purple line will be painted on Sunday 5/22/16 down Clifton Avenue from City Hall to Third Street and to the Main Library. The RFL is returning to Clifton Stadium this year so the purple line comes as close as possible to that location.
The Relay for Life of Clifton will be held from 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 to 6 AM on Sunday, June 12, 2016, offering everyone in Clifton the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people will camp out at Clifton High School and take turns walking on the lacrosse field. Because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the overnight event.

The theme of the Clifton Relay this year to celebrate the Summer Olympics is Relay of Champions. Join us for a fun day with clowns, face painters and entertainment.
Make a commitment to be a part of Clifton’s Relay for Life. If you are unable to walk, please join us in supporting the participants.
The Committee has planned a Tricky Tray at the event. If you would like to donate a gift, please call Chairperson Stephanie at 973-684-5754.
If you would like to start a team, visit the website www.cliftonnj.org/cliftonnj
If you have any questions about the RFL Clifton call Ed Ahart, ACS Co-ordinator, at 973-285-8041. If you are a survivor, please contact Ed as well to register for our Survivor lap.
When you see the purple ribbons, remember Relay for Life. There is no finish line until we find a CURE!
We hope you smile and remember a loved one when you see the purple ribbons!
