Chicago’s “Polish Triangle”
(December 5, 2013) “Today I was instrumental through my Committee, the Committee of Housing and Real Estate along with my colleagues; Alderman Bob Fioretti – 2nd Ward, Alderman Proco Joe Moreno – 1st Ward, and Alderman Scott Waguespak – 32nd Ward, officially honoring the plaza that intersects Ashland Ave., Division St., and Milwaukee Ave., as the “Polish Triangle.” I would like to thank members of the Polish Community that had made us aware that this plaza was never officiated as the “Polish Triangle,” and with their supportive efforts today marked a milestone for the Polish American community in Chicago.” (Note: The Ordinance was presented at the City Council Meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2013).
Alderman Ray Suarez, 31st Ward, Chicago, Illinois
