Blood Drive
NEW JERSEY- On Sunday, January 4, 2015 O.L. of Mt. Carmel Parish, 10 St. Francis Way, Passaic, will be sponsoring their 37th-annual blood drive in conjunction with The Blood Center of New Jersey, in the Church Hall, side door (parking-lot entrance) from 10 am – 2:15 pm.
Age 16 (w/parental permission) and up are allowed to donate, including senior citizens. On the Feast of the Epiphany, give the greatest gift of all – the gift of life! Donors will be entered in a raffle for 2 Superbowl Tickets.
FDA regulations changed, those who are on most medications are allowed to donate blood, providing they meet the criteria, please call the Blood Center at 1-800-BLOOD-NJ x-132 and talk to the nursing department to check the list of allowed medications or with the nurse at the drive before donating.
All donations will be given to the Blood Center of New Jersey where they will be processed and donated to area hospitals to help: premature babies, trauma victims, cancer, burn and surgery patients and people with blood diseases.
Due to the Holidays, colds and flu, travel and inclement weather, the winter months are the most critical month where blood is in the shortest supply than in other months.
Please eat breakfast, have photo ID, and refrain from most dental work and aspirin at least 1 day prior to the drive, those with colds should not donate, for further information please call 973-779-7279 or olmc100@yahoo.com
