“Altar Ego” Exhibit…
Clifton Students To Sell Artworks

NEW JERSEY – Students of Clifton High School Art Department will exhibit and sell their artworks at the Clifton Arts Center. This is an opportunity for all residents to view work created by talented and emerging resident artists. The exhibit opens on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 and ends on Saturday, April 23, 2016. A reception will be open to the public, as well as to parents, students and teachers on Wednesday evening, April 6, 2016 from  6-8pm. Suggested Donation is $3.00.

The 2016 Clifton High School Art Show at the Clifton Art Center is called Altar Ego because it celebrates the multifaceted sides of the creative self.

The purpose behind art is often more than what meets the eye. Just like the artist, art is emotions, thoughts, and memories expressed through aesthetics to convey the stories behind them. Your true nature on the inside is meant to be expressed on the blank canvas outside.

Art reflects the ego of the artist internally and externally. Expressing internal versus external beauty, fear, stress, hope, and love are all emotions that come together to establish the art piece. Look into the inner depths of an artwork and you’ll find the work of emotions, thoughts, and beauty displayed on the altar of creativity.

CHS_AltarEgo_PCard-2Gallery hours open to the public to view art are from Wednesday through Saturday ~ 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Group tours are available by appointment. For more information log onto the website at: www.cliftonnj.org or like us on Facebook.
