Assemblyman Giblin Participates In Rockaway
Beach /Queens St. Patrick’s Day Parade
New Jersey Assemblyman Tom Giblin and Business Manager of Local 68 IUOE was selected as an Honorary Grand Marshal along with Queens Borough President Melinda Katz to walk the parade route of the Far Rockaways in Queens (New York) in the 39th Annual Queens County St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The Rockaways were devastated during Hurricane Sandy (also known as Super-Storm Sandy) in October of 2012. The Irish community which is still very large in Rockaway Beach, led by Grand Marshal Donald O’Sullivan – founder of Navillus Construction, rallied together to spearhead the clean up which was unfortunately in a state of mass confusion stemming from the overwhelming reach of the destruction which hit New York and New Jersey. The storm’s effects on the infrastructure of the bi-state area was unprecedented in modern times. Melinda Katz is married to the world renown Polish leader and founder of the Guardian Angels, Curtis Sliwa, who hosts a Radio Talk Show on the airways of WABC 77 AM. He co-hosts the show with Attorney Ron Kuby from 12 to 3 pm, Monday to Friday.
